Christmas in Tivoli

Tivoli has opened for six weeks of Christmas joy. Time for hot glögg and julekage, The Nutrcracker, Crazy Christmas Cabaret, sweet Christmas smells and lots of holiday shopping at lovely boutiques around the park!

There is so much to love at Tivoli (and all of Copenhagen) during the Christmas (or Jul as they tsay in Denmark) season. Eating traditional Danish Christmas foods, drinking, (window and actual) shopping, lights on almost every street, Christmas plays and musical performances and much more!

Your heart swells to unimaginable size when you stand in front of the brilliantly lit Balsam Fir Christmas tree in Fanueil Hall in Quincy Market near Boston Harbor. The tree is annually donated by Nova Scotia to the city. I get that same feeling in front of the Christmas tree in Copenhagen’s Rådhuspladsen or City Hall Plaza. It is the Christmas 2014 season, or Jul (“Yule”) sæson in Denmark. Continue reading
